Music From The Future

Two impressive minutes
Wow people, this is yet again one impressive HD-Timelapse which will leave you in awe! It’s fascinating to see how our tiny dot in space is spinning, pretty randomly amongst trillions of other dots.
Makes you wonder about our spot in the universe. Damn, my tongue is tangled after watching this. Stunning, absolutely stunning.
On the side; The music is also pretty Goosebumps-engaging, so make sure you have your speakers turned on.
W0w indeed!
I will quote the author:
スイスで開催される [BASELWORLD 2009] でシチズンブースのメイン映像として制作した作品。 表現テーマはECO DRIVEの無限性。東京という都市が持つ変化し続けるパワーを、ECO DRIVEが持つ無限性と重ね合わせ、エネルギーの蓄積と放出と いうアクションを東京という都市を使ってダイナミックに表現した
So you make sure you never forget it!
No, seriously, do you remember this time-lapse movie of Tokyo I posted here a few days ago? This movie does about the same but adds some extremely complex 3D-renderings and music visualisation amongst the stunning footage.
I don’t think you will regret watching it. Made by w0w, a Japanese Graphics/advertisement agency (I guess).
FC Kahuna – Hayling.
This here is truly a delicious spacey song which can be found at James Holden’s ‘Balance’ edition (005), A brilliant album to which i will certainly dedicate a post soon.
It is not the original FC Kahuna – Hayling, but it is the “Kosmas Epsilon mix”…
The image I’ve added is a wallpaper of my own creation. All we need is a futuristic racecar on the right side going at 450 mph and the picture is finished. You can download the wallpaper here (1280×960)
This is where i would have stopped writing if it wasn’t for Youtube…
As I was searching for this track on youtube, it struck me to find that this is also the soundtrack of the movie Layer Cake! And I can not withhold you this amazingly beautiful video with this -original version- song in the background… A true feast for the eyes, ears and mind.
The future is now, not here though…
But in the amazing city called Tokyo!
Some amazing cinematic/photographic artist made this stunning time-lapse video with his Canon EOS in full HD.
Just made me realize what a relatively boring country Belgium and the rest of Western-Europe has become when it comes to city-structure and wild futuristic design. If you compare our cities to let’s say Dubai or Tokyo, can taste the plague-infested-potatoes in your mouth compared to space food. (and recycled urine water)
Just imagine what could be… Antwerp, Rome or London in 2060?
We can only imagine, I assume we all hope it won’t look like this?
Cliff Martinez – First sleep
Cliff Martinez really made quite the awesome introduction to me while I was enjoying the movie Solaris for the first time.
It’s a movie about a strange ionized planet, some place far far away… The crew is going all ‘2001’ on each-other and the lead figure thinks knows he’s going insane.
A véry good movie if you like the SF/Space genre by the way. Psychological sf-thriller. Would really recommend!
This song is the perfect addition to the serene and somewhat frightening atmosphere which dominates the movie. So the uploader of the video above deserves a lot of credit for adding the stop-motion of the sun’s solar winds to the music. It’s very nice to watch too.
Before I stop; Here’s a screenshot from the movie… A spaceship hovering over a very strange and mysterious alien planet.
I have to catch the train to tomorrow…
Hermann & Kleine – Leaving you behind ‘(without knowing) (Youtube)
Well; Every time I listen to this track; I’m speechless, sad actually… It catches my breath and I kind of doze off to another dimension.
I recently left my girlfriend behind in the airport when I went back home after a fantastic week in paradise with her. This ambient/minimal electrotrack really captures the emotions and thoughts I had at that moment perfect.
So, just like the title claims “Leaving you behind”. There’s no other emotion I can bring up to describe this amazing piece of art.
What initially came to mind when I first heard this song on the album Balance 005 (by the incredible DJ James Holden), was this incredibly busy airport, at night, like in hong-Kong or something like that… Endless lights blurring, endless amounts of people and technology flowing like veins through this airport, everybody minding their own business… And you see a girl crying and boarding in the distance.

Aphex Twin – Xtal
Aphex Twin’s Xtal… Wow, what can I write about this badboy?
I remember listening to this song somewhere in late 2003 in my student’s room, I had just moved in and felt all alone (hehe) And I must say, this song isn’t a great cheer-up… It sounds sad, kinda like “All hope’s lost, you have lost your family, your home, and everything that was ever meaningful to you and there is no way back”.
To me it feels desolated, like discovering a new ice-cave a couple of trillions of miles away from home.
I don’t really agree with the video on this one. In fact, I’m not even sure it’s the original one. Because usually Aphex twin make some really trippy videos.
Oh yea and finally: This song is great for driving late-night! Well I guess I could say that about every song I will post here… You know, watching those streetlights and only one or two other cars in the distance gliding by…
Nathan Fake’s The Sky was Pink
To open the futuristic music category, I bring you Nathan Fake – The sky was Pink.
I bet everybody has 1 song which they can hear over and over and over and… Currently my play-count for this unbelievable track is at “133”.
Every time I heard it before I watched it with the video a dark and purple-hazed planet came to mind with a sun barely peeking above the horizon… A mysterious land yet to be discovered, now only inhabited by storms, poisonous atmospherics and ice-cold grounds…
I even tried realizing a visualisation of this song myself through means of 3D-graphics.
If you liked this song, you should definitely try James Holden’s remix too!
Some say the remix is even better, i keep undecided and continue loving both tracks.
A Reflection on Humanity
Have I lost all faith in humans?
Every day I witness something which disturbs, annoys or even disgusts me on the news. Sad thing is; It’s almost always misery created by fellow humans terrorizing other, innocent people’s, lives!
But that’s nothing new. I just wonder where it’s going… You know, how far will some people go? What resources will they use to succeed in their personal gain? How many lives are worth sacrificing to slightly improve the lives of just a few others?
You know, It’s easy to be negative about humanity these days… And that’s exactly why I made this film last year.
Please watch full-screen and hang on. Don’t take the words too literally. Please! – Every sentence is designed to raise questions about yourself, about your co-inhabitants of this (dying?) planet.
This video is also available in very High resolution on Viddler (in case your employer blocks out Youtube.)
